I've always wanted to work in a 3D environment and recently started working with Google SketchUp. It is a great program and is fairly easy to work in although I've not gotten into the deeper parts of the free downloadable program. Here are a few of the renderings; the chicken coop I want to build, the vintage travel trailer restoration workshop I also want to build and our house.

Once I got a job teaching in the graphic design field in early 1988, I wanted to experiment using color and was inspired by all of the creative folks around me. For a while, my wife, Julie and I bred and raised birds, mostly parrots, conures and endangered finches. It was during this time, I rendered this picture of the only parrot indigenous to North America, the Carolina Parakeet. This was done with pen and color pencil.
Thought I would try something a bit different and share examples of my creative works. All my life, I have been drawing. It started with graphite pencils in church and over time, I experienced with other mediums beginning with pen and ink.
While in high school, the pen was a quill type instrument that was forever being dipped into the ink well. Once I got into art school in Omaha, I was introduced to the Rapidograph pen and I thought I had gone to heaven. This triplex was done in the late 70's while I was in art school and was created for a project for a proposed housing development.
